Museum of Brands, Packaging and Advertising

I think this is my favourite museum so far. I literally walked out of the building with a smile on my face, enormously inspired and happy to be a design/illustration student in London.
Before visiting I didn't really had high expectations because I don't like the logo of the museum at all (makes you think it's more focused on modern packaging which isn't the case) and it seemed a bit like a sloppy place according to the pictures I saw. Once inside I actually liked the sloppiness (as in, many many items put together in glass boxes) it had this nostalgic atmosphere. I'm definately going back soon, I already miss the instant happy feeling I got from the beautiful designed candy bars and cornflakes boxes. The only downside maybe must be the fact that they didn't offer much information (apart from the brief general description per decade)

What made my visit even better is that there were these jolly old people visiting as well, recalling memories based on the displayed products.

Here are some sketches I made, and some blurry photos (it was well dark and we actually weren't allowed to take pictures)

London maps

Unconsciously I created a collection of quickly made maps that I made right before going to places. Even though this is a massive big city I can proudly say I never got lost so far.

Postmodernism at the V&A

Two weeks ago (slow blogger) I visited the Postmodernism exhibition at the V&A. As we weren't allowed to take pictures I tried to capture the interesting/bizarre things in little notes and drawings. I saw some pretty peculiar teapots and got obsessed by this figure called Klaus Nomi in the music video room, where I spend most of my time. Also spent a lot of time in the garden, which had beautiful chairs.

Ladurain

Enjoying a rose macaron and Royal blue garden tea at Ladurée Covent Garden market when suddenly the sky broke open.

I'd rather have one of these than an iPhone

Even more animals at Natural History Museum

After queuing outside for 45 minutes I finally made it into the Natural History Museum. An hour later they were already closing down so just went through the collection quickly. Didn't had the chance to go see the dinosaurs because there was even more queuing involved for that part. I have to say, even though the building outside looks really impressive, inside I wasn't too convinced. But that might be because I was still impressed by the Zoology collection the day before.
